Ray Anthony Roxas-Chua III joined the Philippine government
in October 2007 as the Chairman of the Commission on Information and Communications
Technology (CICT). He is the third Chairman of the CICT and the youngest
member of the Cabinet. As the Chairman of the CICT, he is also designated
as the Development Champion of the Cyber Corridor Super Region and the Chairman
of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Advisory Council.
Prior to his appointment, he was President of ARCYA Glass
Corporation, a glass manufacturing company, and Vice President and Assistant
General Manager of Pacific Land and Building Corporation, a property development
and management company.
Prior to moving back to the Philippines in 2005, Mr. Roxas-Chua
was Vice President of the Technology Investment Banking unit of Citigroup
Inc. in Palo Alto, California, where he focused on equity and debt underwriting,
mergers and acquisitions advisory, and bank loan syndication for technology
companies, particularly in the communications equipment, electronic manufacturing
services and semiconductor sectors.
Mr. Roxas-Chua graduated at the
top of his high school class at Xavier School and pursued his college education
at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated magna cum laude with
a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and a Bachelor
of Applied Science in Computer Science from the School of Engineering and
Applied Science.
Born on November 8, 1975, Mr. Roxas-Chua is the son
of Sebastian Antonio Roxas-Chua, Jr., and Betty Go Roxas-Chua, and the grandson
of the late Don Antonio Roxas-Chua.
