The Malacañang Museum is situated in historic Kalayaan Hall – the old Executive Building built in 1920– at the heart of the Malacañan Palace complex. The museum features galleries and exhibits showcasing the heritage of the Palace and the Presidency of the Philippines as well as artwork and furniture from the Palace collections. The exhibits include:
  • The History of Malacañan Palace, featuring gifts, relics, memorabilia, artwork and photographs, principally on the ground floor in the old American colonial rooms of Kalayaan Hall:

    o Era of Reform, Revolution and the First Philippine Republic (c.1860s–1901)

    o EDSA People Power Revolution (February 1986)

  • The Old State Rooms constructed on the second floor of Kalayaan Hall during the Commonwealth of the Philippines, and which were in official use from 1937-1980: the administration of President Manuel Quezon till that of President Ferdinand Marcos. These rooms were restored in 2002-2003 through the initiative of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in order to revive appreciation of the heritage of Malacañang as the seat of the Philippine Presidency, and are part of a series of rooms throughout the Palace complex – in the Palace proper, Kalayaan Hall and Bonifacio Hall – named in honor of past presidents to whom these specific rooms can be directly and significantly linked.

  • The Gallery of Presidents of the Philippines, situated in the Main Hall, together with a display of selected State and Official Gifts to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

  • Special Exhibit of Campaign Posters of the 1965 Presidential Elections (Main Hall)

  • Special Exhibit of Religious Images and Objects (Southeast Gallery)

  • Special Exhibit of Relics of the Presidency of Ferdinand E. Marcos (Northeast Gallery)


The Malacañang Museum at Kalayaan Hall is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and can be reached through the Kalayaan Gate. Visitors coming in private vehicles or by taxi should enter the Malacañang environs through either the Arlegui Street or J.P. Laurel Street Entries and either park or disembark in the Mendiola Street Car Park, after which a short stroll along J.P. Laurel Street will bring them to Kalayaan Gate. Visitors on foot can also arrive by way of the General Solano Street or San Rafael Street Entries.

Please note that, due to prevailing conditions, visits and tours of the Malacañang Museum are STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, and can be initiated by writing or faxing at least SEVEN DAYS IN ADVANCE to:

The communication must contain the full names and nationalities (for foreign nationals, passport details must be included) of all people included in the visit, as well as the desired date and time of the visit and contact information. This information is required for security clearance by the Presidential Security Group.

Once the communication has been received, the Visitor and Tours Coordinator at the Malacañang Museum will facilitate the request and confirm the visit.

Public visitors to the Malacañang Museum are charged a regular fee of P50.00, or P30.00 for concessionary groups such as students and senior citizens. All visitors are provided with a tour guide.

Photography is allowed, but is restricted to within the Malacañang Museum. Taking video footage is, however, prohibited, without prior clearance from the Presidential Security Group.

All scheduled visits and tours are subject to rescheduling or cancellation on the advice of the Presidential Security Group.

The staff of the Malacañang Museum are dedicated to facilitating the enjoyment of all visitors, making visits as worthwhile as possible and fostering appreciation of one of the most historic and important places and institutions in the Philippines.
