World Records Academy declares PGMA's photo mosaic as world's largestThe equivalent of the Guinness Book of World Records, the World Records Academy, has bestowed on the photo mosaic of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo the distinction as the world’s largest of such art creation category.
President Arroyo’s photo mosaic, measuring 175 feet by 128 feet, is a brightly-colored presentation of some 1,000 photo images of the President taken while performing her multifarious governance activities in the Philippines and abroad.
The photo mosaic was created by former former Philippine Star photojournalist Revoli Cortes from shots he had taken during his nine-year coverage of the President.
Cortes entered his art piece in the prestigious World Records Academy completion where it bested its rivals from all over the world including entries from Great Britain and Canada and emerged as the world’s largest photo mosaic todate.
The photo mosaic was first presented by Revoli to the President during her recent birthday and was unveiled at the Rizal Park by Press Secretary Cerge Remonde and Ilocos Sur Gov. D. B. Savellano.
Printed on a tarpaulin by Golden Touch Printers, the mosaic was also made possible with the financial support of the OPS headed by Secretary Remonde and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes office.
Cortez said the Guinness Book of World Records has already given him a certification on his landing its record books. He said he will present the certification to President Arroyo shortly.
The President’s photo mosaic has been in the front page of the www.worldrecordsacademy.org site since June 5. (PND) |
